The field of 18 teams has been finalized for this year’s NWLA Tournament presented by Visit Lenawee! They are as follows:
With an increase in size comes a change in format. The tournament will begin with Pool Play, featuring 6 pools of 3. Each pool will be determined through a team draft, featuring the Top 6 finishers from last year. Each Pool Play game will now be a full game, with ties still in play after 6 innings. After Pool Play the teams will be seeded, with the top 14 advancing to Double Elimination, and the bottom 4 playing a play-in game where the winners will receive the final 2 Double Elimination spots. This Qualifying Round will also feature full games with no inning limit, and will count towards the pitching rotation rules. The two teams eliminated in the Qualifying Round will have a shot to redeem themselves in the Dangerfield Bracket, which will be expanded to 6 teams battling for the final Qualified spot in the 2020 NWLA Tournament.
An email has been distributed to the managers looking for team information, and if you are a team manager and did not receive this email, please reach out to the Organizing Committee.
The next steps are the Rules Call (held in June), and the Pool Play draft (held in July). Let the build up begin!
