Tournament Format
Pool Play to Determine Seeding (Saturday)

  • 2 3 games
  • Pools will be determined by draw Friday Night
  • Each Team Has 1 Home / 1 Away Game Coin Flip for Home Team
  • 12 Team Pool Play Schedule

Double Elimination Tournament to Determine Champion (Saturday and Sunday)

  • Seeding by W-L, then head to head if possible, then run differential, then team total bases
  • DE TOURNAMENT BRACKET

Consolation Single Elimination “Dangerfield” Bracket (Sunday)

  • ONLY for Teams that Go 0-2 in the DE Tournament
  • Seeding Same as DE Tournament, Based on Pool Play Results
  • Stats Will Be Kept, But Will Be Treated Separately from Pool/DE Stats (Similar to All Star, Exhibition Stats)
  • DANGERFIELD BRACKET

  • 7:30 PM – Registration Open (Table Outside Food Tent)
    • All Players/Coaches/Guests Sign In for NWLA Shirt and Sign Waiver
    • All Managers Pickup Team Welcome Packet
  • 8:00 PM – Welcome Dinner (Food Tent)
    • Buffet Dinner Open to All Guests (Free of Charge)
  • 8:40 PM – Pool Play Draw (Food Tent)
    • Introduction of Host Committee Members
    • Managers will Draw for Schedule # in League Alphabetical Order
    • Managers Give Brief Introduction of Their League and Team
  • 9:00 PM – Home Run Contest (Field Red #1)
    • Color Commentary and Announcing by Carl Coffee and Sam Skibbe
    • 1 Participant Designated by Each Team
    • Participant chooses their pitcher (anyone they want)
    • Pitcher Must Have At Least 1 Foot In Pitchers Circle When Pitching
    • Players Bat In Order of Team Schedule # Draw
    • Two Rounds of Competition
    • All Players Get 10 Outs In 1st Round (Any swing that isn’t a HR is an Out)
    • Top 4 Players (and ties) Advance to 2nd Round for 10 More Outs
    • Most Home Runs in 2nd Round Wins
    • Tiebreaker for Champion Rounds Continue at 5 Outs Until Broken
    • Participants Wear Official Team Tournament Uniforms and NWLA HR Derbyww Hats
  • 9:45 PM – Awards Presentations and Pre-game Introductions (Field Red #1)

    • Player Draft Held 1 Week Prior to Game by Managers to Set Teams

    • All 7 Players Can Bat In the Lineup
    • Players Wear NWLA All Star Uniforms and Official Team Tournament Hats

Goal
A National Championship Tournament for All Star Teams representing 13 fast/medium pitch, base running wiffleball leagues in the country

Requirements to Participate

  • Current NWLA Recognized League
  • Minimum of 4 Teams in League
  • Must Have Played Regular Season Games in 2013
  • Players Representing League Must have appeared in at least at least one League Regular Season Game in 2013
  • Players must all be 18 years old (liability and insurance reasons)

  • Each League must designate their voting member

Leagues Sending Teams Agree to Provide

  • $100 Registration Fee must be paid by June 18th BEFORE you will be considered in the tournament or added to the rules committee. League Logo authorized for Use On Materials/Website
  • Team Logo authorized for Use On Materials/Website
  • League’s Team Name (IE – PWL Nationals, or WSEM Tigers or KWL Kings)
  • League Uniform for Players in Tournament (minimum of matching shirt, plus uniform number) – photo submitted a week prior to tournament
  • Player Names, Numbers, Photos, League Stats in Advance
  • Transportation and Lodging of their players for the Tournament
  • 1 Player to Compete in the Home Run Contest
  • 1 Player to Compete in the All Star Game
  • At least 1 player/other person designated in advance who will blog on the trip and tournament before, during and after the event (we’ll call them a “Beat Reporter” for the league at the tournament).
    • At least 2 pre-tournament stories (practice/prep/etc)
    • At least 2 on site stories
    • At least 1 post-tournament wrap up after return home
